GRIIT President and CEO Sarita D. Jackson, Ph.D. has been invited to attend the World Trade Week Breakfast and Forum in Orange County this month. So what is World Trade Week? What does the Orange County World Trade Week mean for GRIIT?

World Trade Week began 91 years ago by the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce. In the present day, a number of organizations throughout Southern California host WTW events, such as workshops and seminars, throughout the month of May. These events bring a number of people from the public, private, and educational sectors together to highlight the importance of global trade on the domestic economy at the local and national levels.

Dr. Jackson is excited to attend the Orange County World Trade Week for the first time. “This is an opportunity for GRIIT to gain insight into the impact of international trade on Orange County’s economy, strengthen existing ties with key players in the Orange County trade community, and expand GRIIT’s geographical network of international trade experts and practitioners beyond Los Angeles County, ” says Dr. Jackson.

The event will take place on Thursday, May 18th and is hosted by UPS and the Greater Irvine Chamber of Commerce. For more details, please click here.
